History of FILIPINO CHINESE FIREFIGHTERS FOUNDATION OF DAVAO, INCORPORATED 1989
In the year 1989, a group of young Filipino Chinese businessmen feel that Davao City is growing and likewise fire incidence had also increases. These young men knows that through the information from local BFP Fire Marshal, the existing fire power can not coup up if big fire will occur. Due to this information and encouragement by Col. Bonifacio Garcia, who was the Davao City Fire Marshal of Bureau of Fire Protection, these group of young men form a volunteer group.

At that time, the foundation acquired from BFP a Nissan fire pumper and a Toyota 800 gallon fire truck model 1954, that were junk by the government for many years for none spare parts available. The group change and replace surplus engine, new tires, repairs bodies and tank, and painted. This takes about two to three months to complete it in operational conditions. They purchase fire hose and nozzle needed. The cost was near to three hundred thousand pesos. All fund were came from pocket of the members.
On the same year, one of the officer had acquired a building to be use as a fire house at Torres st. in front of Agdao Warehouse. The foundation due to many student, businessman and who have the heart to joint. With the help of our friend, City Fire Marshal Col. Bonifacio Garcia, help us train these young men. The fire fighters had increase up over fifty members. During that time, he is the only friend we have in the B F P.
